Invisalign®

A well-established branded aligner system using ClinCheck® digital planning and proprietary SmartTrack® aligner material.

Invisalign can be considered for a wide range of suitable cases and provides an established digital treatment and monitoring ecosystem.

Best suited to: Patients who prefer the recognised Invisalign system or require access to its wider range of treatment features.

LabX Design Aligners

A clinician-directed alternative supported by orthodontist-led digital planning, aligner manufacture and personal case support through LabX.

LabX Design Aligners provide a flexible and often more accessible pricing option for appropriately selected cases without compromising the importance of clinical planning and supervision.

Best suited to: Patients seeking professionally planned clear aligner treatment at a different price point.

01 · Consultation and assessment

We discuss what you would like to change and assess your teeth, gums, bite and general dental health. Any necessary routine dental care should be completed before aligner treatment begins.

02 · Digital scan and records

A digital scan, photographs and appropriate clinical records are taken. These are used to create a three-dimensional treatment setup showing the proposed tooth movements.

03 · Review your plan

We review the digital plan with you, explain the expected limitations and confirm whether Invisalign or LabX Design Aligners is the more appropriate option.

04 · Wear and review

You will wear each set of aligners for the prescribed period—normally for approximately 22 hours each day—and attend progress reviews. Attachments, interproximal reduction or refinement aligners may be required.

05 · Retention

Retainers are required after active treatment to help maintain the new tooth positions. Long-term retainer wear is an essential part of the treatment.

Clear Aligners

Which is better—Invisalign or LabX Design Aligners?

Neither system is automatically the right choice for every patient. The recommendation depends on the movements required, case complexity, treatment features, personal preferences and budget.

Is LabX simply a cheaper version of Invisalign?

No. LabX is a separate clear aligner workflow with its own digital planning and manufacturing process. It allows us to offer a professionally supervised treatment option at a different price point.

How much does treatment cost?

Fees depend on the system selected, the complexity of treatment and the number of aligners and refinements required. You will receive a written treatment plan and fee before deciding whether to proceed.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment time varies according to the starting position of the teeth, the movements required and how consistently the aligners are worn. An estimated timescale will be provided after digital planning.

Will I need attachments?

Small tooth-coloured attachments are commonly placed on selected teeth to help the aligners produce particular movements. They are removed when no longer required.

What is interproximal reduction?

Interproximal reduction, or IPR, involves carefully removing a very small amount of enamel between selected teeth to create space. It is only performed where clinically appropriate and will be discussed beforehand.

Are aligners painful?

Temporary pressure or tenderness is common when a new aligner is fitted. This usually settles as the teeth adjust. Contact us if discomfort is significant or persistent.

Will I need retainers afterwards?

Yes. Teeth can move again after orthodontic treatment, so continuing retainer wear is required to help maintain the result.

Do I still need my regular dentist?

Yes. Market Cross Dental is a referral practice, and patients must remain under the routine care of a current general dental practitioner throughout treatment.
